Dr. Joseph Au, a former Chief Superintendent of the HKPF, served over 32 years before retiring in 2019. He briefly returned to the HKSARG in December 2020 as Compliance Controller to oversee designated quarantine hotels during the pandemic, a role he held until October 2022. He was honored with the “Chief Executive’s Commendation for Government / Public Service”.
Dr. Au holds multiple degrees, including a Doctorate in Transformational Leadership from Bethel Bible Seminary, and Master’s in Theology, Christian Studies, and Criminology, respectively, from Lutheran Theological Seminary, Alliance Bible Seminary, and the University of Hong Kong. His doctoral thesis embarked on a comprehensive exploration of the intricate dynamics between faith and work within the context of police culture. He is also an active volunteer at the HKPF Enoch Christian Fellowship and is passionate about fishing.
